Here at Burnout bikes we love and live bikes, the shop is owned and run by myself Clint and my brother Alan ( Big Al).
We have been motorcycle crazy all our lives, thanks to our father Wilf, who would spend hours spinning yarns to us of his times racing around the country lanes on old Sunbeams, Enfields and Nortons with his friends back in the 50s and 60s. These stories must have made a far greater impression on us than anything we were ever taught in school because here we are, many moons later, with a "proper old bike shop" in a small village called Downton, deep in Wiltshire alongside the river Avon on the edge of the New Forest near to Stonehenge.
We work with Dr John, who is a highly-skilled fabricator and technician, here we can modify, customise, fix, weld and repair anything.... as long as it has an engine!! So don`t be bringing your Uncle Ernie by for a hip replacement!! We build bikes and modify a lot of bikes, we have been bike enthusiasts all our lives, since children, watching Barry Sheene and Kevin Schwantz on tv going to the Speedway, Grass track and road race meetings.
Our passion comes from racing, we have raced for many years on road tracks and dirt, most recently in classic scrambles running a pre-1980 twin shock Yamaha XT 540cc thumper and a Yamaha YZ 400E howling two-stroke, such a buzz it's ridiculous especially at 50 years old!!
We have had our fair share of spills with the thrills too, from riding 50cc mopeds around the fire roads of the local airfield as children to riding a bike to work every day. We have ridden most makes and styles. Our small workshop not only offers sales, service, spares, repairs and mot, but turns out custom bikes, cafe racers, flat trackers and all kinds of modified bikes, which we have been lucky enough to show, and be awarded prizes for, throughout the UK and Europe. People seem to like them too... Thanks for stopping by
